Previous post Anambra Rolls Out Mobile Tech Hub to Expand Free Wi-Fi Access Across the State In a significant stride toward enhancing digital inclusion, Anambra State has launched a state-of-the-art Mobile Tech Hub — a custom-built bus designed to deliver free high-speed internet access to communities across the region. Spearheaded by the Geeks & Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS), the initiative supports the state’s ongoing “Solution WiFi” project, which is already active in over 26 locations, including public places and tertiary institutions. The Mobile Tech Hub is equipped with voice and data services, robust backup power, and the capacity to connect up to 3,000 users simultaneously. It is set to serve high-traffic public spaces like town squares, parks, and event grounds, enabling thousands of residents to access the internet at no cost. Unveiled at the Tower of Light in Awka, the mobile hub represents a new phase in Anambra’s digital transformation efforts. It builds upon earlier successes, such as the waiver of Right of Way (RoW) charges — a move that accelerated broadband expansion and fibre optic deployment across the state. According to officials from the Anambra State ICT Agency, the initiative is designed to bring meaningful relief to citizens, especially students, entrepreneurs, and underserved communities. With rising data costs, this mobile solution aims to bridge the digital divide and provide equal access to digital tools and information. The hub will soon begin active deployment across neighborhoods in the state, bringing free connectivity to more people — whether to catch up on work, attend virtual meetings, download academic materials, or simply stay informed. This move aligns with Anambra’s broader vision of becoming a smart, connected, and inclusive digital economy. As GEFAS continues to support innovation in the region, projects like this reinforce the potential of technology to improve everyday life for citizens and drive grassroots development. Stay tuned to Hello Tech for more stories highlighting how communities across Nigeria are using innovation to shape the future.
